kampala

I arrived in Kampala well, had a fun weekend. Did the whole wedding dressing thing and we found a few dresses that werent a lasy and fluff overload!
I am here until tomorrow as am having a lovely friend come to visit from the UK, so I have luxury of staying with my great Kampala friend flora until then and working in her nice office which has wireless internet and playing tennis after work!! I feel very posh!! Soon though I am back to Mbale to the normal life again! Until then I shall make the most of Kampala life!!

wedding dresses

So the last few weeks have been good and bad, there have been quite a few problems with our girls which have upset me but things are getting better now. Just makes me question a lot of things, the main question I am trying to answer now is what should I do next when I finish here? Am trying to be chilled out about it, stressing will not help. I am going to apply for lots of different things and see what they will let me do!
so this weekend I am off to Kampala with a group of friends. My two friends that live in the next door are getting married next summer so we are going to look at some wedding dresses so she can get some ideas. We are hoping to find some nice ones but most of the wedding dresses here are just full of lace and puffy sleeves, I think it will be a laugh!

independance day

Today has been a public holiday to celebrate Ugandas independence from the British. I appreciated this day off very much.
Has been a nice pottering type day and we have kind of had power when we shouldn't have, except that we have some big problems on our line so the power just keep flicking on and off for most of the day. Feels like your in a disco, but not too great for the light bulbs and electrical appliances. It has now stabilized for a while, lets hope it stays that way.
Mouse update- I have put a trap down and since I have done that the mouse has made no appearance not even to steal the soap. May be the soap it stole last week has killed it!

running and rats!

So what's been happening
  • The mole has gone from the land, left of his own accord which was nice
  • I have a mouse or rat living in my kitchen, I am not happy about this, he has nibbled his way through a banana and my bar of soap, and to top it all my bar of soap is missing and the only suspect is the mouse/rat!! I am trying to work out a way getting rid of it which isn't too cruel!
  • We nearly have a completed training room and goat house at the project, very exciting!
  • I am training for the Kampala 10 km run which is in mid November which now seems very near!
